An exclusive 12 day Safari circuit. On arrival transfer to Moshi Coffee Lodge. Relax after the long flight. Transfer to Lake Manyara Tree Lodge for 2 nights of tree-house luxury. Drive to the ultimate Ngorongoro Crater Lodge, set on the rim of the crater. Spend 2 nights and enjoy amazing wildlife encounters. Fly to the intimate Klein’s Camp in the Serengeti for 2 nights – a perfect setting for the Great Migration. Fly to Zanzibar, transfer to Mnemba Island – your luxury home for 4 nights.
Day 1 : Arrival / Moshi
Arriving at Kilimanjaro International Airport you might be lucky and catch a glimpse of Africa’s highest peak before it slips behind the clouds. Your transfer will be waiting to take you into Moshi. Check into Moshi Home for dinner and overnight.
Days 2 & 3: Lake Manyara National Park
Transfer to Lake Manyara National Park, a small park by Tanzanian standards it boasts an amazing diversity of terrain, plant and animal species. Well known for its tree climbing lions the park was actually created to protect the elephant herds of the area. Spend 2 nights in the luxury of one of the 10 intimate suites. The only lodge actually in the National Park you are guaranteed an exclusive experience. Each tree-house suite has a private veranda, large windows that open up to the lush forest, spacious bedrooms and sitting rooms, and baths with panoramic views.
Days 4 & 5: Ngorongoro Conservation Area
Today you are making your way by road to the world’s largest intact caldera – Ngorongoro Crater. The transfer takes around 2 hours and you get to enjoy the beautiful landscape before arriving at one of the most breathtaking views in Africa! Pure fantasy is how you best describe swirling mist and cloud, unexpected architecture, handcrafted mud and thatch, graceful antiques, floor-to-ceiling windows, attention to detail, and the natural spectacle below. View the Big 5 from your safari vehicle and enjoy picnics at exclusive spots, with herds of wildlife around you.
Days 6 & 7: Serengeti National Park
Transfer back to Lake Manyara area today for a charter flight into the Serengeti. From the Klein’s Camp Airstrip it is an hour transfer through the Serengeti Plains to Camp.The Serengeti forms part of a huge conservation area which includes the Ngorogoro Crater and the Masai Mara. Enjoy game drives in the morning and evening seeking out the Big Game and enjoying the vast open plains which makes wildlife spotting so much easier. Guided bush walks are also available for those a bit more energetic, and bush breakfast, dinners and sundowners are a specialty!
Days 8 – 11: Mnemba Island Lodge – Zanzibar
Transfer by light aircraft from the Serengeti to Moshi. A transfer will be waiting at Moshi Airport to take you to Kilimanjaro Airport where you will board your flight to Zanzibar. It is not a long flight to the Spice Island. From Zanzibar Airport you will transfer by land and boat to Mnemba Island – your barefoot paradise for the next 4 nights! 10 simple but luxurious palm fronted bandas, the guests staying in them, and the staff looking after those guests, are all that you will find on this private little island. Mnemba Island Lodge is surrounded by white coral sand beaches, magnificent coral reefs and turquoise Indian Ocean waters. If you are a certified diver than 2 dives a day are included in your stay. If you are looking for something a little more recreational then boats and snorkeling guides are available to take you to remote reefs. You can also snorkel straight from the shores, with more than 430 species of reef fish recorded at the “house reef”. Fly fishing, kayaking and windsurfing for those feeling a little more energetic or otherwise idle the hours away on one of the shaded traditional Zanzibari beach beds!
Day 12: Departure
Today you need to leave the warm tropical waters behind and head back to the Mainland Zanzibar. If you have some time before your flight a Spice Island Tour is recommended. Otherwise wonder the narrow alleyways in Stone Town and pick up some last minute souvenirs to take home.
